‘Maxie Makes‘ is a longer picture book for slightly older readers that is based on a three chapter format (or alternatively this could work really well as a series, with great potential for expansion). Chapters under construction are: Maxie Makes a Friend, Maxie Makes a Mistake, and Maxie Makes Some Noise.

Maxie uses they/them pronouns, and simply adores making stuff! Maxie Makes is a magic pencil story where Maxie creates their world as the story progresses, designing their surroundings with lots of colour and imagination. During the first chapter, Maxie makes a friend, Maxie literally makes a friend out of paper and colouring pencils and some other bits and bobs. This friends name is Mogg, who becomes Maxie’s faithful companion throughout the story.
